Our profile and experience
Anglolang has been involved in teacher training for nearly twenty years. We have designed courses for Education Ministries and institutions from all over the world and have considerable experience of delivering courses for vocational teachers from Sweden and Iceland.
Course content
English for Vocational Teachers is a mix of General English classes in the mornings and English for a variety of vocational specialisations in the afternoon. We use a variety of published, authentic and audio-visual materials to help you to make good progress. By the end of this course, you will have
- more confidence in speaking English with greater fluency
- improved listening skills.
- better reading skills
- a wider vocabulary to talk about a range of general topics as well as your vocational subject area.
General English (Mornings)
Studying in mixed nationality Intensive English groups with adults and other vocational teachers at your level, you will increase your confidence in using English. The exact content of your classes will be agreed with your teachers but will include speaking, vocabulary, listening and reading skills.
Vocational English (Afternoons)
You will be divided into small group based on the vocational subject you teach to focus on the English you need in your vocational subject area. This will include working with and developing your understanding of specialist terminology for your vocational area and accessing teaching information from the Internet.
You will also have the opportunity to read, translate and discuss documents and articles in your subject area. There will also be the opportunity to network with vocational teachers from different European countries and to discuss best practice in multicultural and multiethnic classrooms.
Study visits
All our vocational courses include at least one study visit either to local companies or local schools and colleges.
You will meet professionals working in your field as well as English vocational teachers and students of your subject, giving you the opportunity to practise your specialist vocabulary and exchange professional knowledge. Visits to schools and colleges to meet teachers and students will give you an excellent insight into vocational training in England and authentic examples of classroom language and teacher/student interaction in your field.
Feedback from the visits will be an integral part of the course and will allow you to reflect on what you have seen and best practice.
Please note that school and college visits in late July and August depend on the availability of the hosting institution. If we are unable to organise a school or college visit, this will be replaced with a second study visit to a company in your field.
